Mji Mkongwe — the old part of Zanzibar City. Coral stone lanes, carved doors, slave-trade memorials, spice market.
Zanzibar Stone Town is also known as Mji Mkongwe, the old part of Zanzibar City. A UNESCO World Heritage site with Swahili, Arab, Indian and European influences layered into coral-stone architecture. We walk the narrow lanes, the old fort, the former slave market, and finish at the seafront night market.
Runs year-round, though we may reshuffle the order depending on wind, tide, and crowds. If you want something even quieter, ask about our off-peak versions — same places, fewer other boats.
